I don’t really know how to start this blog post. If you’d told me three years ago that I’d have reached the end of 2015 as a full-time wedding photographer, I’m not sure I would have believed you! It was something I’d always aimed for and had been hoping to do but the idea of being self-employed and relying only on myself for income seemed a million miles away! Before becoming a wedding photographer, I’d had many jobs that never quite fitted me…. I’ve been a cleaner, a kitchen porter, a delivery driver (3.45am starts 7 days a week!), a shop assistant, a printing assistant… the list goes on!!
But now, I can honestly say I’m happier than I’ve ever EVER been. I feel my whole working life had been building up to this moment – the moment I can actually do something I LOVE!
If you’re reading this and you’re stuck in a bit of a rut, please don’t worry, It will get better All the time I read success stories of people making it to the top in such a short amount of time (which is great!) but that’s just not me. I’m a slow burner. I work hard. Each day, every day and I guess I’ve got to this point at the time that’s right for me. Happiness is not a race. It’s a journey and it’s one I’m still on
As Dory says, ‘Just keep swimming…just keep swimming!’ 😉 Because it’s SO worth it.
I’ve had an amazing year and I can’t thank the lovely couples who booked me enough – you’ve made it possible for me to do something that always makes me smile. Thank you!
So, enough rambling! – here’s Part One of my favourite snaps from this year!
