Another incredible year gone – time really does fly when you do this job!
How would I sum up 2016 for me?
It was a year of travelling far and wide across the UK – from London to Manchester to the Lake District to Devon… It was a year of seaside weddings, relaxed and natural photographs, a very rainy but epic September, dancing all night, bright colours, amazing couples who were up for anything and everything, emotional grooms, hilarious speeches, gorgeous brides and tons of special moments in between it all!
So here’s a collection that sums up my year of weddings, engagement shoots, family sessions, creative photo shoots and, of course, it wouldn’t be a post of mine without a few doggies in there too 😉
Now, come on then 2017, let’s be having you!
^ A photo shoot on Camber Sands with musician and now good friend, Fred Clark. Loved doing this shoot! And I’m now chuffed to be photographing his wedding day in 2018!
^My wonderful photography friend Emma who I’ve met and got to know really well over 2016
^ My step-brother got engaged and is marrying the lovely Clair next year!
^ My sister & Will – the face pulling genes run in the family 😉
^ Such a privilege to photograph Hannah & Henry’s maternity session in Sissinghurst in Kent. I photographed these two tying the knot back in 2014 so it was exciting to see how they were getting on!
^ An extra special moment when Kelly put on her ‘something old’; a necklace that her Grandad had given her Mum on her 21st birthday. Kelly wore it in his memory.
^ The church archway on Sam & Tom’s wedding day was over-run with ladybirds!
^ Some of my favourite decorations this year at Sophie & Aden’s wedding by the fab Pop Pop Papier.
^ Sue & Jon’s Easter-Seaside-Scrabble themed wedding day! Now THAT is a theme!
^ Easily the most cheerful vicar I’ve met all year!
^ Teddy started clapping and cheering right in the middle of his Mum & Dad’s wedding ceremony!
^ Mikey & Beth had dancing in the middle of their wedding ceremony!
^ Dawn & Aaron – my first wedding of 2016! And for their couple photos, we sneaked off to the steam train station in Tenterden for some vintage-y pics.
^ Pete & Lynette’s wedding in Devon – a 4×4 drive through a field of sheep to reach this view
^ Ros & Ed and their massive “camper-van” (I use that term loosely!) which they lived in whilst they travelled around Mongolia!
^ It rained SO hard on Alicia and Luke’s wedding day but the bridesmaids didn’t let it get them down! After about half an hour of group photos in the rain though I had to sneak off to the bathroom and stick my head under the hand-dryer.
^ It was such an honour to photograph Clair’s wedding from Creative Brides. She’s always been such a great supporter of my photography work and so it was lovely to photographer her own wedding day!
^ Something a little different for a wedding meal – fish & chip picnics on the grass.
^ When Ed had to break into his own house to let all the wedding guests in!
^ The most emotional Dad/Daughter moment of the year has to go to Sam on her wedding day. Loved this!
^ What I particularly love about this one is that if you look super close, there’s a tiny tear forming in Luke’s eye as he listens to a heartfelt speech from his brother.
^ You wouldn’t believe the stories I get to hear during the wedding speeches 😉
^ Best cake cutting of the year goes to Sam & Tom!
^ Just love these two – one of the loveliest couples I’ve met this year!
^ The moment before their guests flooded the dancefloor!
